Comparison of Three Single Leg Weightbearing Tasks with Statistical Parametric Mapping

چکیده
The single leg squat (SLS), forward step down (FSD), and lateral (LSD) are clinically reliable movement screens for identifying motion imbalances. current understanding the kinematic profiles of each task is limited to discrete time points such as peak knee flexion. However, analyses entire would better aid clinicians when selecting appropriate rehabilitation or screen purposes. study used Statistical Parametric Mapping ascertain differences in waveforms duration task. trunk, pelvis, hip, were analyzed sagittal frontal planes. Data variable from 0–100% movement. Primary findings indicated that FSD provoked a greater magnitude abduction than SLS LSD 26–66% generated greatest amounts pelvic, hip flexion entirety elicited least amount ipsilateral trunk lean (90–100%). Thus, may be optimal assessing plane injury risk, while has potential place increased demand on muscles hip.

1. INTRODUCTION This chapter is about making regionally specific inferences in neuroimaging. These inferences may be about differences expressed when comparing one group of subjects to another or, within subjects, over a sequence of observations. They may pertain to structural differences (e.g. in voxel-based morphometry-Ashburner and Friston 2000) or neurophysiological indices of brain functio...

15 صفحه اولStructural adaptive segmentation for statistical parametric mapping
Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging inherently involves noisy measurements and a severe multiple test problem. Smoothing is usually used to reduce the effective number of multiple comparisons and to locally integrate the signal and hence increase the signal-to-noise ratio. Here, we provide a new structural adaptive segmentation algorithm (AS) that naturally combines the signal detection with ...
متن کاملWSPM: Wavelet-based statistical parametric mapping
Recently, we have introduced an integrated framework that combines wavelet-based processing with statistical testing in the spatial domain. In this paper, we propose two important enhancements of the framework. First, we revisit the underlying paradigm; i.e., that the effect of the wavelet processing can be considered as an adaptive denoising step to "improve" the parameter map, followed by a s...
متن کاملHOW TO UNDERSTAND IT Statistical parametric mapping
© 2004 Blackwell Publishing Ltd THE BASIC IDEA Brain responses are recorded using an imaging technique such as fMRI, which allows the repeated measurement of brain activity at hundreds of thousands of points, or voxels, throughout the brain (Fig. 1). Each voxel represents physiological responses from a small anatomical portion of the brain (typically 3 × 3 × 3 mm). The analysis of such data see...
